1. Infosys partners with Microsoft to build AI solutions

Indian IT company Infosys announced today its partnership with Microsoft and revealed its plans to jointly build artificial intelligence solutions. According to the release, both companies will leverage their own AI services, such as Infosys Topaz, Azure OpenAI Service, and Azure Cognitive Services, to build AI solutions for companies in various industries. Nicole Dezen, Chief Partner Officer, Microsoft Corp, said: “We are delighted to expand our partnership with Infosys to deliver innovative solutions leveraging Azure OpenAI and Azure Cognitive Services to help customers develop new business models and realize new revenue streams.”

2. A French billionaire invests more than $200 million in artificial intelligence

Xavier Niel, who is the majority owner of the French Internet service provider Iliad, is investing almost $212 million in artificial intelligence. According to a Bloomberg report, the funds will be split between a future research lab called “Sphere” in Paris, also funding for startups, and cloud supercomputing capabilities provided by Nvidia. In an interview, the French billionaire stated that he aims to bring back French scientists who left the country to work for large technology companies. “We don’t want our cloud and AI to be based on algorithms or machines localized in other countries,” Niel said.

According to a Bloomberg report, it plans to fund AI startups in their early stages. Maini said in an interview: “I was thinking about space exploration, climate change, longevity and healthcare, and I keep coming back to AI; It’s a transformative technology for all of that.”
